Ideas that matter

For the past 16 years I’ve had the good fortune of making a career of one of my passions in life: communications and public relations. It became evident when upon completing my college degree in communication; I had the opportunity to interview more than 15 PR agencies CEOs for my thesis. Their knowledge and experiences helped solidify my belief that crafting and telling a brand’s story was precisely what I wanted to do professionally.

Bold brand work

Sixteen years later, I am privileged to have worked with many of the world’s biggest brands and cherish the role I’ve been able to play in their success. I’ve counseled technology and biotechnology pioneers from Dell to Dupont. In the pharmaceutical field, I’ve worked with practically every international and local company including Pfizer, Sanofi Aventis, Boehringer Ingelheim, Lundbeck, Abbott, Eli Lilly, and GSK among others. And the list of consumer brands I’ve helped introduce, establish or grow in Mexico include Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Diageo, Sony, Unilever, MTV, Gatorade, Michelin, Hershey and many more.

Career highlight

The most difficult year of my professional life was also the highlight. In 2009, our office battled the twin crises of the first (and deadliest) outbreak of the H1N1 virus, as well as the global economic crisis to report record revenues and profits for the year. For more than a week, the streets of Mexico City, home to more than 20 million, were deserted. And the fear, if not the threat, lingered on. Coupled with the recession, very little would have been expected. But we worked harder than ever, established new strategic offerings, and in the end, succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest dreams.
